The Rotary
Scout
In 1986 The Rotary Club
of Bellville donated an 11.8 meters
Tosca Marine yacht to the Sea Scouts
to be used in seamanship training.
This was made possible by the late
President Eric Nel whose company
built the boat. Over the years the
Bellville Club contributed to the
upkeep and of the yacht and other
running expenses. In 2000 The Rotary
Scout took part in the Cape to Rio
Yacht race crewed by Sea Scouts and
came first in its class.
